Brenda Gale Ellison was born on June 7, 1956 to Mary Mays Ellison and Jessie J. Ellison in Huntsville, Alabama. She was born an identical twin of Glenda Dale Ellison. She passed this life on January 27, 2013, at her home.
Brenda was born again at the age of 10, and joined the Chelsea Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America under the pastorage of Reverend R.L. Blackburn. She had a beautiful voice and loved to share her gift. She sang in the Junior Choir at Chelsea, as well as the Madkins Chapel Church Choir, the Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University Choir, the Huntsville Youth Choir, and with the Ellison Family throughout the course of her life. Brenda loved music, with her strong will and determination she taught herself how to play the piano and the guitar.
Brenda matriculated through the Huntsville City School System. Upon graduation, she received a scholarship to attend Alabama A&M University, where she majored in Business Administration. She later graduated with honors and was inducted into the Honor Society. After graduation, Brenda was employed at the Redstone Arsenal with the U.A. Army Missile Command Unit. While employed she received numerous awards for her exceptional work and her computer graphics design.
She leaves to cherish her memories: mother, Mary Mays Ellison; brothers, Freeman (Bobbie) Ellison , Charlie Ellison, Jessie Ellison, Will Ellison Sr., Lee Ellison, Michael Ellison; sisters, Katharine Ellison Fazekas, Kasey Ellison, Glenda Ellison (her twin), Maude Ellison, Lori Ellison (Sherman) Stringer, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at the Chelsea Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America (3123 Johnson Road, Huntsville, AL 35805) with Reverend McKinley Jones officiating. Interment will be in the Meadowlawn Garden of Peace. Miss Ellison will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.
Public Viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 1, 2013; and from 8:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2013, at the Royal Funeral Home.
