Larry "LaChris" Cole was born August 4, 1991 at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Ruby Jean Cole. At an early age, LaChris was raised by his aunt Hazel and grandmother, Arlean Cole.
While living in Oakland, California, LaChris was educated at Burckhalter Elementary and King Estates Junior High School. When he was relocated to Huntsville, Alabama in 2003, LaChris attended Lee High School and Sparkman High School. He was never married nor had any children of his own, but LaChris loved all of his nieces and nephews as well as friends' children. He played equally with the girls and boys within his family. They truly adored their fun-loving uncle.
LaChris was baptized at an early age at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Oakland, California by Reverend Herbert Guice. When LaChris had later moved to Huntsville, he rededicated his life at St. Luke Church.
From the beginning, Larry's life consisted mostly of music. When in grade school, he was asked to leave class on numerous occasions for drumming on tables and desk tops. At home his grandmother would scream, "stop making all that racket", as he would drum on everything throughout the house. This "racket" led to LaChris becoming an all-around one man band. The "Wingman" evolved! LaChris was a trendsetter and pioneer when it came to developing his music. He formed the group known as "The Airport Gang" where he wrote, produced, and performed all of the songs. LaChris accomplished his dream and made a name for himself.
LaChris departed this life to join his Heavenly Father in doing what he loved best: music. He is survived by: his mother, Ruby Jean Cole of Huntsville, Alabama; adopted mother and step-father, Hazel Mae Cole and Roy Blackshire of Huntsville, Alabama; sisters, Undera Cole-Williams (Eric) of Vacaville, California, Arlean Cole-Hughes (Demetrics) of Huntsville, Alabama, Rajoan Cole-Johnson (Kacy) of San Antonio, Texas, Elizabeth Cole of Huntsville, Alabama, Annie Cole of Huntsville, Alabama; a brother, Luke Cole (Bianca) of Huntsville, Alabama; six nieces: Kiga Cole of Sacramento, California, Akilah Williams of Vacaville, California, Jahkiah O'Neal of San Antonio, Texas, Demetra Hughes, Whitney Hughes, and Sydney Cole, all of Huntsville, Alabama; three nephews: Jahlil Williams of Vacaville, California, and Cache and Demetri Hughes both of Huntsville, Alabama; his maternal grandmother, Arlean Cole of Huntsville, Alabama; five uncles: Robert Luckett of Huntsville, Alabama, Peter Cole of Oakland, California, and Patrick Cole, Kennie Johnson, Sr., and Henry Woods, all of Grand Rapids, Michigan; eight aunts: Ella Johnson of Warner Robbins, Georgia and Nepora Johnson, Bobbye Moore-Biles, Gloria Vance, Shelby Cole, all of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Lillie Tubbs of Gurley, Alabama, Hester Woods-Nixon of Abilene, Texas, and Maxine Miller of Huntsville, Alabama; and a host of cousins, extended family and friends.
