Rogerick Settlers was one of three triplets born to Benzella Settlers and the late Bobby Settlers on April 15, 1973 in Huntsville, AL. Rogerick recently reaffirmed his hope in Christ and gave bold testimony that his life was most peaceful when spent acknowledging his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Rogerick attended Huntsville city schools and graduated from Butler High. Rogerick along with his twin brother, Kenneth, spent the majority of their early years at the home of their paternal great grandparents, Laura and Jimmy Settlers, who helped rear them. As you might have guessed, he was greatly spoiled by them, but that’s what grandparents do.
Rogerick was employed by Tyco where he was a dependable employee and made many friends. Rogerick was athletic and enjoyed playing a good game of basketball when the opportunity presented itself. Rogerick had a quiet spirit and could often times be found watching football on weekends with his Uncle Billy at the home of his aunt with whom he lived up until his illness. However, the joy and pride of Rogerick’s life was his daughter, Kaliyah, to whom he was devoted and talked about often.
Rogerick departed this life peacefully on October 27, 2011 at Huntsville Hospital. Rogerick is survived by his daughter, Kaliyah; a loving mother, Minnie M. Settlers, of Huntsville, AL; siblings: (Eric Anthony and Shakira Diane preceded him in death), Kenneth Wayne Settlers, Lequan Danielle Settlers, and Lawrence T. Pryor (step-brother) all of Huntsville, AL; a caring and supportive great aunt, Susie Nicholson (Johnnie) of Huntsville, AL; a very special and devoted friend, Shondra Fuller of Decatur, AL; aunts: Patricia Nance (Dwight) and Teresa D. Caudle of Huntsville, Karon Hodo of West Virginia, VA; uncles: Billy Caudle, Leroy Caudle, Jr. (Tina), Stephen Langford (Stephanie), Shelby Langford, and Patrick Caudle, all of Huntsville, Eric A. Langford (Latonya) of Vacabille, CA, and Gregory (Monique) Caudle of Snellville, GA; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends.
