Deacon J.B. Pride

Deacon JB Pride, affectionately known as simply, "J" was born January 21, 1941 to the late Howard and Georgia Mae Pride in Madison County, AL. He departed this life on Monday, June 27, 2011. He was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Lucy Jefferson Pride and by his sister, Dorothy Jean Luckett.

Deacon JB Pride accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and joined the Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church in 1990. Immediately after joining the body of Christ, he began the mission of serving the cause of Christ faithfully. Deacon Pride was a faithful and devoted member until he received his call to rest. He served in numerous capacities and offices in the church including the Board of Trustees, Deacon Board, Sunday School Superintendent and Teacher, Bible Study and Revival Leader, Usher Board, Youth Choir Advisor, The Charlotte Miller Scholarship Committee and the Indian Creek Primitive Baptist Deacon/Layman Council. Needless to say, Deacon Pride will be sincerely missed as a shining beckon of light at Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church.

Outside the church, JB Pride was a well respected and beloved member of the community at large. He is remembered lovingly by his Machine Craft family where he retired after 32 years of service in 2010. Those that had the privilege of knowing and interacting with JB will deeply miss his presence, his encouraging words, his faithful service and his devoted stewardship.
